Why don't I enjoy popular orchestral music?
Hi,
I'm a fan of orchestral music, I recently listened to Mahler's symphony 2 and I enjoyed the hell out of it!
It was fantastic...
But then I decided to listen to Berlioz - Symphonie Fantastique since everybody says it's great! its the best....
But... not only I didn't enjoy it, I felt like it was like orchestral dubstep music!!!
I know there are beauties that music experts know about them in this piece, but how do you rate symphonies?

You are allowed to not like certain pieces of music everyone else has their favourites and ones they don't like. Some people don't like the works of a certain composer and that is fine. It is all down to individual taste.
It's called personal taste. I expect your tastes in food, drinks, book, games and films are different to other people's too. Music is no different, no matter what the genre.
